Delete your account
Last updated: August 30, 2026
1. Delete it yourself, in the app
This takes about ten seconds and needs no one’s approval:
- Open CardChecker and go to the Account tab.
- Scroll to Delete account at the bottom.
- Type DELETE to confirm, and tap Delete.
Your account is removed immediately, you are signed out, and everything stored on the phone is erased at the same time. There is no waiting period, no cooling-off window and no undo.
2. Delete it by email, without the app
If you have uninstalled the app, or cannot sign in, email us from the address you used to sign in — that address is how we identify the account, and a request from a different one cannot be honoured:
Email support@cardchecker.app to delete your account →
We confirm by reply. If we cannot match the address to an account we say so rather than leaving the request unanswered.
3. What gets deleted
Both routes delete exactly the same things, permanently:
- Your account and sign-in identity — your email address and profile. You can no longer sign in, and the address is free to be used for a new account later.
- Your collection and binders — every card you added, with quantities, conditions and purchase prices.
- Your watchlist — watched cards and price targets.
- Your pre-grade history — every condition estimate, its result and its stored images.
- Your portfolio history — the daily value snapshots behind the chart.
- Your grade credit record — the ledger of grades granted and used.
4. What is not deleted, and why
Being straight about the edges matters more than a tidier list.
Card photos you sent for analysis
Photos you upload for identification or grading are written to our processing server under randomly generated filenames, with no link to your account, and are deleted automatically: within 30 days for scans, and within 90 days for the close-up crops that a grading result displays. Deleting your account does not shorten those timers, because there is no stored link from an account to those files to follow. They expire on their own and are not used to identify you.
Server logs
Ordinary operational logs (that a request happened, when, and whether it succeeded) are kept briefly for security and debugging. They do not contain your collection, your photos or your grades.
Payment records
There are none. CardChecker has never taken a payment, so there are no invoices to keep. If paid plans launch, invoices will have to be retained for the period tax law requires, and this page will say so before that happens rather than afterwards.
Anything you exported
A CSV you exported to your own device or cloud storage is yours and is outside our reach. Delete it where you saved it.
5. How long it takes
- In the app: immediate. The account is gone before the confirmation closes.
- By email: we aim to act within 7 days, and in every case within 30 days, which is the outer limit the GDPR allows for a deletion request.
- Backups: our database provider keeps encrypted point-in-time backups on a rolling schedule. Deleted data can persist in those backups until they age out; it is never restored into the live service, and is not used for anything.
6. Just want to stop using it?
You do not have to delete your account to stop. Signing out leaves everything in place; uninstalling removes the app and the data on the phone but leaves the account, so you can come back to it. Deletion is the only irreversible one of the three.
7. Questions
Anything about this process, or about a request you have already sent: support@cardchecker.app. Our Privacy Policy covers what we collect while the account exists.
